Sidi Gingi placed first in tai chi forms and second in weapons. Sidi Erin placed first in push hands sparring, second in advanced push hands, second in tai chi forms and third in weapons. Thanks to Sigung Steve Jungmann and Sifu Doug Douglas Bowman for organizing and hosting this great event, and congrats to the competitors from all 3 schools.

I hope you can join me for these two great sessions!
Also, I will be taking a business trip out of state next week, so class will be cancelled next Thursday.

I’m proud to announce that I will be offering new tai chi classes close to home — that is for me, Oconomowoc — starting on October 5th!
Parker’s Place Fitness has been a community staple for over 13 years, and are passionate about total health. This is their first foray into hosting a restorative practice like tai chi at their club, and I’m excited to be a part of it. They have a beautiful aerobics gym that we’ll be using for our classes, and when the weather is nice outside this fall, we may head out to their back lawn to train.
The classes will be a mixture of relaxation exercises, stretching, tai chi long forms, with a short meditation at the end. If students are interested, we may eventually introduce weapons like the tai chi sword and fan.
Class times will be Thursdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 8am. Cost is $50 per month for an individual, and $80 per month for a couple or family to attend.
If you are interested, head over to the Class Schedule page to learn more and sign up.

Join me this month for a tai chi relaxation session at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Brookfield. The church was kind enough to invite me again for their annual Women’s Day of Discovery, where you can take classes on healing arts but also diverse subjects such as cookie decorating, line dancing, and photography.
The session will be from 9:05 to 9:55 a.m. on Saturday, February 25th. Registration is open to members and non-members, and payment is through an offering in the amount of your choice. Visit their website to register online. I hope to see you there!
We’ve wound down our last few classes of the season at Yoga 4 All, and will be taking a break for the next few weeks during the holidays. We will be announcing new classes for December or January soon, so check back for updates. In the meantime, we hope you have a safe and happy holiday season!
It’s back to school time, and things are on the move! Firstly, a reminder that there is no tai chi class this Saturday, September 3rd as the studio will be closed for Labor Day Weekend. We hope you enjoy the holiday!
Secondly, we’re excited to announce that the tai chi class will be moving to Wednesday mornings at 7am. This new class, called Sunrise Tai Chi, will focus on stretching, breathing and meditation techniques to help you wake up, reduce stiffness and increase range of motion. Everyone from athletes to those suffering from joint pain due to illness or injury can benefit from early morning tai chi. Join us next Wednesday, September 7th for our first class!
Finally, our next self-defense seminar will be taking place on Sunday, September 25th at 6pm. Keep yourself and others protected by learning the basics of street safety and self-defense in this 90-minute session! We will work on understanding how to avoid dangerous situations and when to intervene, as well as real defense techniques from our traditional martial arts system, Pai Lum (Way of the White Dragon).
Jon Odishoo is a martial arts instructor with over 7 years of training, and has taught self-defense to many groups including law enforcement personnel.
The cost of the workshop is $35 per student, and children 12 and under are free with a paid adult. Space is limited! To find out more and sign up, call (262) 719-0422 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
